Greetings from Mysore, India. I have been here now just over a month and am enjoying my time here immensely. The trip began in a very dramatic way. Mae and I stopped over in Thailand on our way to India and enjoyed a very nice time at the beach in Phuket. We departed Phuket on Christmas Eve and arrived in Mysore on Christmas Day. The very next day, the Tsunami brought the apex of its destruction to the very beach we were staying on. You can imagine the shock and the sadness (not to mention the gratitude of having been spared) that we felt in learning this news. We immediately thought of the beautiful local Thai people that we met there and got to know, praying that their lives were spared, but knowing that most likely, many of them either died or were very badly hurt....
